Dedicated to getting unlicensed drivers off the road,
improving the safety of the road
and reducing honest drivers' insurance rates.
The press often uses phrases such as "drove with a suspended license," or "driving on an expired license." These imply that an invalid license has some sort of validity.
These situations do not provide the driver any sort of validity!
Language such as the above minimizes the serious, often fatal consequences of these violations.
Appropriate language would be, "the driver had no valid license: his license had been suspended," or "the driver had no authorization to drive: his license expired months before."
Ask your local press to get it right.
